Something old, Something new, Something blue

At risk of being lynched by the entire staff here @ the mighty, today I'm bringing you something totally different to kick things off:

La Roux.

I first peeped her @ Yo Yo's a few weeks back and I can't get enough of her bugged out cocktail of retro synths, her haunting, creepy voice and the arsenal of quality pop songs. The live show is proper, her look is otherworldly/androgynous/futuristic/retro but it works. She's unique right the way through. So get to a gig!

The single 'In for the Kill' is out on the 15th and the video, radio edit and a plethora of remixes are below:

The Mp3's:

La Roux - In for the kill - Radio edit mp3 EXCLUSIVE

La Roux - In for the kill - Radio edit Instrumental EXCLUSIVE
La Roux - Quick Sand
La Roux - In for the kill - Skream's let's get ravey remix
La Roux - In for the kill - Hostage Remix
La Roux - In for the kill - L-Vis 1990 RIP Hyper Bass Remix
La Roux - In for the kill - The Twelves Remix
La Roux - In for the kill - Max Heye's Remix

If your feeling Skream's remix, his newest mixtape is over @ Scenex

Durrty Goodz has been around from years swaying from good to mediocre to poor. It would appear he has got his shit together and has some decent tracks doing the rounds at the moment. And not an electro track in sight (well if you don't count the pisstake track) - God bless his grime ridden soul!

Cam Your Enthusiasm

If you didn't know Cam'Ron has impeccable taste in comedy and is a big fan of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' and now is thinking of producing his own show in that style. Heres some background:

You know my lawyers are Jewish, they be saying that all the time. So then I was watching Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Larry David—I fucks with Larry—he called Ted Danson a ‘yenta.’ Yo, I fell out laughing. That shit was crazy. I said, that’s exactly what all these folks are doin’, gossiping about me. Yentas. That’s where the ‘Cam’ron is anonymous’ came from too. Did you see that episode? That’s my shit. You have HBO On Demand?

“Right now while I’m writing my show, it’s a lot of stuff that has to do with Jewish people,” he said. “So I called my lawyer, my man Andrew Bergman, and I’m like listen, would I be allowed to do this because I don’t wanna offend anybody.”

Anyway, the reason for this post is complex just came up with a few castings ideas for Cam's project.
This is f'ing genius. (Ted Danson=Jim Jones, lol) Check it out

Cam may want to leave the weed at home if he ever ran into LD though.

Royce da 5' 9" is crazy

You might think this is a nice r&b record after hearing the intro, well you'd be wrong.

Royce Da 5'9" - "Part Of Me" from Three/21 Films on Vimeo.

Big L R.I.P. (1974-1999)

Too many rappers dead at a young age, too many overlooked. One being Big L. 10 years today.

Size Em Up
Ayo, I shoulda been out
I'm deadly when I pull the pin out
Keep frontin', I'ma try yo' chin out
I knocked a lot of men out
I left 'em on the floor spittin' phlegm out
It's either that or I'ma squeeze the gat and pop ten out
You see Corleone, ice spinnin', jigged out, white linen
And if a bitch don't like me she must like women
Every time I come around you see your wife grinnin'
Don't be mad 'cuz yo' career's in the ninth innin'
It's over now, nigga, leave the game
I'm from the danger zone where emcees get slain
We're thugs that never hesitate to squeeze the flame
We're niggaz be takin' drugs just to ease the pain
Hustlers flip cokey, 48 Hours like Nick Nolte
When I was OT your bitch rode me
First day home I dived in it
Left her thighs dented
Now that bitch be pagin' me every five minutes
Emcees I squash and disgrace, it's all about the Benjis
So why your bills got Washington's face?
A lot of cats be frontin'
Made singles wit' a fifty on top
L tryin' to have the city on lock
Peace to Biggie and Pac 'cuz they really were hot
Rap game, heavy hitters, it's a shame they no longer wit' us
Niggaz wanna be L, ladies wanna see L
If I go to jail you'll wear a shirt sayin' "Free L!"

Big L won, 1995.

If you wanna download some Big L ish, go here

Big Punisher (1971-2000)

During the current B.I.G. love fest it would be easy to forget that tomorrow is 9 years since the death of Pun.

Consistently missed from G.O.A.T. lists, we know Pun was one of the greatest. One of a very small few to create commercial and underground records with success.

50 CENT - ultimate digital slewage

50 Cent has well and truly hammered the nail into the coffin of this beef by a) interviewing and video'ing Rick Ross's baby mother badmouthing him, confirming that he was a correction officer whilst they dated, posting images of the Boss's current squeeze who it appears also happens to be a hooker and b) going as far as redesigning with a HUGE banner advertising Tia's (babymother) new tell all autobiography.

Hats off to 50 for reinventing beef and bringing into the digital age.

An amusing, totally inappropriate interviewer lays into a bunch of crazy US based Israel supporters - if he wasn't so blunt, sardonic and irony fuelled these people would be pretty shocking.

Instead it's hilarious and he pours lashings of scorn all over the pro Israel lobby.
Some choice excerpts:

Check the interviewers jokes comment @ 2:37, priceless!
Arguably the dumbest brunette in the history of the world argues Israel's point @ 04:10 - her bust is definitely greater than her IQ (and the cannons are not all that big!)
Speechless rabbi looking mofo @ 05:18

Young Jeezy/Jay-Z - My President

To be honest, not bothered about this record but Jeezy does take some shots at Bill O'Reilly, which gives me an excuse to post this classic material below. Sonned!

"i got some dirt on you doggy! u mad!!!

Where did the last 10 years go?

Nothing exciting about the visuals. This post is for everyone who can remember buying this copy of The Source and still has it stored away in the loft or somewhere. Sad but true! Seems like yesterday!

Then watch this, the main man appears 1:58 in.

Dipset Update

Capo watch

Jimmy's new r&b record complete with some customary adlibs for the ladies!

Jimmy Jones - Precious

Lets waste some time watching the most stoned version of Jones' I ever did see.

Takes advantage of a Complex mag photo shoot, effectively getting them to pay for his video. Complete with infrequent rapping of the actual lyrics.

Dj Earworm - Mashup 2008

Just came across the 'United State of pop' mashup of the billboard top 25 for 2008 by Dj Earworm. A remarkable feat considering the amount of time it must have taken this guy to edit the tracks, acapellas and videos into one of the best mashups of its kind out there.

Seriously impressive, mp3 here: Earworms website where you can download all his mashups is here:

50 Cent - Play this on the radio

"first they say that faggot hot, then they let that junkie shine"

How about some more negativity to follow the previous post. How else does a bored millionaire entertain himself. 50 goes hard (pause) on a quick verse.

Police at it again: 48 Shots including 12 in the back

A working father, graduate from prestigious high school with no criminal record. Doesn't sound like a target for undercover narcotics police officers. Adolph Grimes III shot and killed by police walking to his car from his parents house. Police 'say' he shot first. This doesn't add up at all.
