Hip-Hop Downsizes

After 10 years+ apart it seems the underground and mainstream are finally coming back together again. Those in a comfortable spot are able to make the music they want, whilst others have realized that lack of sales and major label dollars means their is little to no difference and it would be best to come together.

Along with production from 9th Wonder, Luda's new album will also feature production from Dj Premier.

Dj Infamous, former dmc champ and member of alies turntablist crew hosts Young Jeezy mixtape and produces "Mr. Carter" for The Carter III

Nas enlists stic.man of Dead Prez and underground mc Jay Electronica as producers on "Untitled"

Underground hero and everyman rapper Murs releases debut major label album on Warner Bros, feat production from Nottz and appearances from Snoop Dogg.

North Carolina production crew The Justice League (of Little Brother fame) produce "Maybach Music" and "Luxury Tax" for the Rick Ross album Trilla feat. Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne.

It's announced that Commons album for 2009 will be produced by No I.D. and Kanye West. No I.D. being Kanye's mentor and man responsible for "Resurrection" album. Also working on Blueprint 3. 

Former G-Unit producer Jake One releases new album White Van music featuring a track with Minnesota undeground mc Brother Ali alongside Freeway. 

Detriot mc/producer Black Milk has success with "Popular Demand" released on indie Fat Beats, becomes contributor to Aftermath and begins work with Busta. 

Lil Wayne recently performs live with The Roots at the Miami music conference.
